Corruption Unforgivable Offence, Says RPO

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Multan, Usman Akram Gondal, held an Ardal room session to hear departmental appeals. After reviewing the record, past performance and merit, he announced decisions on various appeals.

During the proceedings:

  • Inspector Waqar Haider was dismissed from the police department.
  • The appeal by Inspector Muhammad Anzar against reduction in salary by one stage was rejected.
  • Appeals by Inspector Muhammad Aqeel and Sub-Inspector Muhammad Zeeshan against their respective punishments were also rejected.
  • Inspector Muhammad Tahir’s appeal against censure was accepted.
  • Sub-Inspector Wasim Ahmad’s punishment was enhanced from reduction in salary to dismissal.
  • Sub-Inspector Zeeshan Haider’s service forfeiture was reduced to one stage salary cut.
  • Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ramzan’s censure was enhanced to two stages salary reduction.

Three appeals by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Shahid Iqbal, SHO Abdul Hakim against censure were accepted, but RPO issued a show-cause notice for enhancement of the penalty in one case.

  • Senior Traffic Warden Muhammad Imran’s service forfeiture was converted to censure.
  • Appeals by dismissed constables Muntazir Mehdi, Muhammad Mudassar and Zulqarnain were rejected.
  • Assistant Sub-Inspector Nawaz Saeed’s appeal against stoppage of one annual increment and five days without pay was accepted.
  • Punishment for Assistant Sub-Inspector Asif Sultan, originally reduction in salary by one stage, was enhanced to two stages reduction.

RPO Gondal stressed that corruption is an unforgivable offence and there is no place for corrupt elements within the police department.
