Court Awards Death Penalty to Three Convicts in Rawat Double Murder Case
RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 3, 2026) A local court on Thursday sentenced three convicts to death and imposed a collective fine of Rs. 3.0 million in a double murder case registered at Rawat Police Station.
According to police sources, the court handed down the capital punishment to convicts Umair, Yasir, and Mohsin after the prosecution successfully proved their involvement in the targeted shooting of two citizens over personal enmity. The court directed each convict to pay Rs. 1.0 million in compensation to the victims' legal heirs.
Rawat Police had registered the formal murder case in 2024 following the incident. A spokesperson for Rawalpindi Police stated that the conviction was achieved through meticulous investigation, concrete evidence submission, and effective prosecution, highlighting that the verdict stands as a testament to justice for capital offenses.
