Crackdown On Encroachments, Unsafe Commercial Vehicles Ordered

Deputy commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem on Friday directed officials to:
- Remove encroachments from General Bus Stand and Vehari Chowk.
- Improve traffic flow on major city roads.
- Provide transporters with adequate space at the General Bus Stand and eliminate illegal bus stops.
- Implement traffic engineering measures and complete road furniture on key routes.
- Launch a campaign to train drivers about traffic rules to prevent accidents.
He also ordered:
- A vigorous crackdown on commercial vehicles carrying LPG cylinders, ensuring safe use of cylinders.
- Strict enforcement of helmet rules for motorcyclists.
- Action against traffic violations and dangerous driving.
- Constitution of special checking teams to curb overloading and axle-load regulations violations.
Dr Faisal Saleem emphasized the need for strict adherence to traffic laws across the district, directing relevant departments to intensify enforcement measures for safer traffic movement.
