Crackdown on illegal petrol, gas refilling points launched

Civil Defence Officer Arshad Hamid Sindhu launched a crackdown on illegal petrol agencies, mini petrol pumps and gas refilling points in various areas of the district on Friday, shortly after assuming charge.
This operation follows directions from Deputy Commissioner (DC) Usman Tahir Jappa. The Civil Defence team conducted raids in Karam Dad Qureshi, Shah Jamal, Mehrpur, and other areas against businesses operating in violation of safety regulations.
The department also took strict action against illegal gas refilling points as part of its ongoing drive against violations of safety laws.
Speaking at the event, Civil Defence Officer Arshad Hamid Sindhu stressed that indiscriminate action against elements breaking the law would continue. He added that no pressure, recommendations, or interference would be accepted, reiterating that those endangering citizens' lives and property would receive no concessions. He further announced that the crackdown on illegal petrol agencies, mini petrol pumps, and gas refilling businesses would be expanded across the district.
