LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 23, 2026) – A special crackdown against underage, unlicensed, and three-rider motorcyclists will be carried out across the city today to ensure safe travel, stated Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi on Sunday.

According to the CTO, general hold-ups will be conducted throughout Lahore targeting:

  • Underage drivers violating traffic laws (issued challans and vehicle impoundment).
  • Drivers operating vehicles or motorcycles without valid licenses.
  • Three-rider motorcyclists.

He emphasized that children often drive motorcycles, cars, or rickshaws from home during holidays, posing significant risks to their lives and others on the road.

The CTO clarified:

  • Driving on a learner’s permit is not allowed.
  • Fines for driving without a license range from Rs. 5000 (for cars) to Rs. 2000 (for motorcycles), with vehicle impoundment.

Special hold-ups will also be conducted outside license offices, aiding motorcyclists in obtaining valid licenses. The CTO directed circle officers to oversee the crackdown and emphasized that underage driving and driving without a license will not be tolerated.
