Cyber Monitoring Of Social Media Ordered Ahead Of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)
Rawalpindi, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 20, 2026) The Punjab Home Department has issued security directives for Rawalpindi City, Cantonment, and adjoining tehsils ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), ordering strict cyber monitoring across social media platforms along with fool-proof physical security to prevent sectarianism, extremism, and maintaining public order.
Under the state’s security plan to observe Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with religious solemnity, district authorities and law enforcement agencies will coordinate security measures along procession routes, sensitive locations, and venue grounds hosting Milad gatherings.
According to the details, Home Department directed law enforcement agencies to deploy effective cyber monitoring systems to identify and block objectionable, provocative, or hate material published online. Authorities warned that strict legal action will be initiated against individuals or groups attempting to circulate incendiary content on social media channels.
The administration appealed to the general public to report objectionable online content or hate speech to relevant law enforcement agencies immediately. Officials reiterated that all necessary administrative measures will be taken to maintain peace during the religious observances, adding that any attempts to compromise public order will be met with full legal force.
