DC Calls For Effective Coordination To Ensure Law And Order

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Sep, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram chaired a meeting of the District Coordination Committee and reviewed the overall security situation, administrative matters, and progress on decisions taken during the previous meeting.
The meeting:
- Reviewed departmental performance regarding action against illegally residing foreigners, illegal mining and crushing plants, warehouse and seminary registration, narcotics control, unregistered vehicles, illegal weapons, and other sensitive issues.
- Directed relevant departments to strengthen action against hoarding and ensure proper mapping and monitoring of foreign students.
- Emphasized improved coordination among institutions to prevent the use of illegal SIMs, hate material, and other sensitive activities.
- Identified 10 new tourist and hiking tracks in Abbottabad, directing relevant departments to contribute manpower and resources for their cleaning, rehabilitation, and maintenance. Clarified that these tracks would only be opened after completing necessary security clearances.
- Reviewed action against begging, unregistered crushing plants, illegal housing societies, encroachments, and other unlawful activities.
- Stated no housing society could operate in the district without an NOC. Informed that only six housing societies currently have legal status while illegal societies would face legal consequences.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all relevant departments to ensure effective coordination and timely implementation of meeting decisions for the larger public interest, maintaining law and order, and upholding the rule of law.
