DC directs departments to ensure strict compliance with safety regulations
Hyderabad, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad, Zain-ul-Abideen Memon, presided over a meeting on administrative affairs of the district at his office here on Friday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Hyderabad Mahwish Buriro, Municipal Commissioner Hyderabad, all Assistant Commissioners of the district, CEO WASA, officers of Health Department, Rescue 1122, Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA), Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), TMO representatives, and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
According to a handout, addressing the meeting, the deputy commissioner stressed that all departments must perform their duties with utmost responsibility.
He directed all assistant commissioners to:
- Conduct inspections of markets, crowded places, warehouses, and halls in coordination with SBCA Hyderabad, HMC/TMCs, and Civil Defence officials.
- Verify approved building plans and fire NOCs, ensuring violators face sealing and legal action under magisterial powers.
- Conduct annual fire safety audits of hospitals, health centers, educational institutions, and other public facilities. This includes verifying firefighting equipment, safety nets, alternative staircases, and other necessary safety measures.
- Organize evacuation drills at such facilities, specifically ordering an emergency drill at civil hospital in coordination with rescue 1122.
He also directed the representative of SBCA Hyderabad to ensure that construction of buildings is carried out strictly in accordance with the law.
