DC directs strict implementation of building bylaws (Published September 07, 2026 | 03:30 PM)

RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th Sep, 2026)

• Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir, has directed the concerned departments to ensure strict implementation of building bylaws and take legal action against violations and illegal constructions across the district.

He issued these directions while chairing a meeting held to review the implementation of:

• Building bylaws
• Construction laws
• Action against illegal constructions

The meeting was attended by officers from:

• Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA)
• Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi
• Building Control Authorities
• Tehsil Administration
• Other concerned departments.

The meeting reviewed the status of:

• Construction activities
• Use of commercial and residential buildings
• Illegal constructions
• Approval of building maps
• Compliance with building bylaws in accordance with approved maps.

DC says illegal construction and violations will not be tolerated

The DC emphasized that illegal construction and violations of approved building plans would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed the concerned officers to strengthen field monitoring and identify violations promptly for action in accordance with the law.

Nasir also directed authorities to create awareness among citizens regarding:

• Construction laws
• Map approval procedures
• Other relevant regulations

to discourage illegal construction.

He highlighted that effective enforcement of building laws, alongside provision of facilities to citizens, is essential for:

• The orderly development of the city
• Reduction of traffic pressure
• Improved urban planning

The DC directed the concerned officers to dispose of pending cases within the stipulated time and make the field monitoring and reporting mechanism more effective.
