DC Orders Completion Of Drainage Project Within Seven Days
Dera Ismail Khan, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Sep, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan, Hikmatullah Khan accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan, Hamid Siddiq, paid a surprise visit to Tariqabad Outlet on Sunday to inspect the ongoing construction work on a drainage channel and review its progress.
The deputy commissioner expressed his dissatisfaction with the pace of work and directed the concerned authorities to accelerate it, ensuring its completion within seven days.
During the visit, he also interacted with local farmers, addressing their problems and concerns. He provided necessary directions to relevant departments for prompt resolution.
The drainage channel project at Tariqabad Outlet is designed to alleviate the recurring urban flooding issue in Hamza Town, Tariqabad, Muriali, and surrounding areas during the rainy season. The area has previously suffered from water accumulation during heavy rains, leading to damage to residential properties and crops. Upon completion, the project will facilitate the effective drainage of rainwater, minimizing losses caused by urban flooding.
