MULTAN: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Faisal Saleem has directed the district administration to implement comprehensive measures for the welfare, healthcare, nutrition, and rehabilitation of elderly people, children, and women residing at Edhi Homes in Multan.

He issued these directives during a review meeting concerning Edhi Homes’ affairs, where officials presented an overview of the residents’ facilities and welfare needs.

As per his instructions, a medical camp was organised at Edhi Homes, offering examinations and health assessments for its children. Dr Faisal Saleem emphasised providing healthcare, nutritious food, and essential services to vulnerable residents according to their requirements.

He further recommended referring elderly and special care-needing children to suitable welfare institutions for enhanced support. The DC assured the utilisation of all available resources for education, healthcare, welfare, and a brighter future for children without family support.

Appreciating Edhi Homes’ humanitarian mission, he pledged the district administration’s full collaboration and assistance in safeguarding its residents. Dr Faisal Saleem stressed that ensuring the well-being of vulnerable groups is a primary responsibility and directed all relevant departments to work in close collaboration with Edhi Homes to meet their needs effectively.
