DC Reviews Flood Protection and Drainage Arrangements
DC (Deputy Commissioner) Gujrat, Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, inspected several flood protection and drainage sites in the district on August 22, 2026, including:
- The protective embankment at Larai Chowk, the breaching point on University Road.
- The protective site at Malho Khokhar, where WASA (Water and Sanitation Authority) teams were working.
- Other sensitive points, with police, the Highways Department, and relevant departments on hand.
Qureshi directed officers to maintain continuous monitoring of critical areas, emphasizing immediate response to any emergencies. He also instructed the Chief Officer of the District Council to keep excavators operational, ensuring adequate fuel supply for round-the-clock work.
