Defence Day Cycle Race Successfully Staged on Northern Bypass
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Sep, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cycling Association here Sunday organized a 42-kilometer cycle race on the Northern Bypass Road to commemorate Defence Day and promote healthy sport activities.
A brilliant performance was delivered by Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) cyclist Yousuf, who claimed first place having completed the course in an impressive time of 01:40:30:00 (one hour, five minutes, and thirty seconds). He was followed by Zeeshan of Pakistan Army, who earned second place with a time of one hour, six minutes, and thirty-four seconds, whilst SSGC’s Farman M secured third place having crossed the finish line in one hour, seven minutes, and forty-five seconds.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, certificates, trophies, and medals were distributed among the successful competitors by MNA Asif Khan.
The race was designed to foster young athletic talent and bolster the profile of cycling across the province. The annual event was attended by Member of the National Assembly Asif Khan, who presided over proceedings as chief guest. He was joined by key officials, including Association Chairman Nisar Ahmed, President Engineer Syed Shayan Ali, and Secretary Muhammad Ali.
