Defence Day Reminds Nation Of Unforgettable Sacrifices Made For Motherland: CM Sindh
KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 6, 2026) Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has paid rich tribute to the martyrs and national heroes on the occasion of Defence and Martyrs Day, stating that September 6 reminds the nation of the unforgettable sacrifices made for the defence of the motherland.
In his message on the occasion of Defence Day on Sunday, the Chief Minister expressed homage to those who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan’s security, sovereignty, and independence. He highlighted the brave soldiers of the Pakistan Army who foiled the enemy’s nefarious designs during the 1965 war.
"The role of the brave sons of Sindh in the defence of Pakistan is a glorious chapter of our history," said Syed Murad Ali Shah, adding that the land of Sindh has consistently sacrificed its sons for the defence and security of Pakistan. He noted that the martyrs had laid down their lives guarding the country’s borders, while the courage and bravery of Pakistan’s national heroes remain a source of national pride.
The Chief Minister emphasized the strategic importance of Sindh's ports and coastline in the nation's defence, acknowledging the efforts of the brave personnel of the Pakistan Navy who also foiled enemy plans on the maritime front. He defined the defence of the homeland as encompassing not only border protection but also safeguarding Pakistan’s unity, peace, and national solidarity.
He underscored that the day serves as a reminder of Pakistan's strength lying in its armed forces and the unity of its 250 million people. Syed Murad Ali Shah assured that the people of Sindh would continue to stand at the forefront in safeguarding Pakistan's security, sovereignty, and defence.
"We salute our martyrs, veterans, war heroes, and their families," he said, adding that the sacrifices of the martyrs guide the nation. He emphasized that the story of freedom and security is written in the blood of our martyrs. The Chief Minister called for national unity, discipline, and solidarity to make Pakistan's defence invincible, concluding with the pledge, "We will protect Pakistan’s integrity, unity, and sovereignty at all costs."
He offered tributes to the martyrs and veterans of the armed forces.
"Pakistan Zindabad, Sindh Paindabad," concluded the Chief Minister.
