DIG Operations Intensifies Crackdown on Crime, Illegal Weapons, Narcotics

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran has reaffirmed the Police Department's strict zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. He emphasized that no officer or official, including SHOs, is above accountability.
Presiding over a crucial meeting at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh on Sunday, attended by SSP Operations, divisional SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs from all 84 police stations of Lahore, Kamran issued stringent directives:
- Strict action will be taken against any police official involved in corruption, whether at a police station or any other department. He stated that guilty officers, including the concerned SHO, along with relevant DSP and SP, would face accountability.
- Citizens should receive prompt and respectful assistance at police stations. Courteous behavior and timely resolution of public grievances are top priorities for every officer.
- Harassment or conduct degrading citizens' dignity will not be tolerated. Illegally detaining individuals without just cause is strictly prohibited, and officials responsible will face severe departmental action.
The meeting also discussed Lahore's crime situation, security arrangements, and measures to prevent crime. The DIG ordered enhanced enforcement against kite flying, aerial firing, one-wheeling, narcotics, and illegal weapons. He urged officers to take relentless action against hooligans and criminal elements while ensuring effective crime control and citizen protection in their respective areas.
