District Administration Intensifies Measures to Curb Dengue Surge
District authorities across the Rawalpindi division stepped up multi-sectoral administrative measures on Friday, focusing on dengue prevention, polio eradication, and improvements to civic infrastructure.
Presiding over a high-level review meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Rehman Khan directed health, municipal, and enforcement departments to intensify indoor and outdoor dengue surveillance in high-risk areas, particularly following the accumulation of stagnant water after the monsoon rains.
He ordered officials to conduct rigorous inspections of commercial establishments, construction sites, scrapyards, and graveyards to identify and eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites. The ADC ordered the immediate use of chemical larvicides wherever dengue larvae were detected and called for legal action against violators under the prescribed anti-dengue standard operating procedures.
The authorities stressed the need for coordinated action by all relevant departments to prevent the spread of dengue and ensure effective monitoring of vulnerable areas.
