Divisional Peace Committee Reviews Security Arrangements

RAHIM YAR KHAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Aug, 2026) A meeting of the Divisional Peace Committee was held in Rahim Yar Khan under the chairmanship of Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia and Regional Police Officer Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin. The purpose was to review security and other arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), particularly the central procession scheduled for 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal across the three districts of the division.
The commissioner reviewed arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Rahim Yar Khan via video link and directed relevant officers to finalize all preparations promptly, ensuring a peaceful, smooth, and befitting central procession. He emphasized the need for foolproof security along procession routes and effective implementation of the security plan.
The meeting also delved into:
- Cleanliness arrangements along procession routes
- Traffic management
- Security measures
- Parking facilities
- Other administrative matters
Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia stressed that all relevant departments should collaborate closely and execute an effective strategy for the sacred occasion, ensuring citizens’ convenience.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Municipal Services) Bahawalpur, Dr Ayesha Khan, and other officials participated via video link. Representatives from Milad committees, Ulema and religious scholars, various organizations, and members of the Peace Committee also attended.
