DQCB Hears 43 Cases, Refers Eight to Drug Court Over Violations
SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Sep, 2026) The District Quality Control Board held its 155th meeting under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Mian Sarmad Hussain. They heard 43 cases related to medical stores and the sale of medicines in the district.
According to a spokesperson, the board reviewed cases presented by drug inspectors regarding drug sale licenses, registration, quality, and expiry dates. Eight cases involving the sale of medicines without licenses, banned and unregistered medicines, and expired medicines were referred to the Drug Court.
They directed drug inspectors to re-inspect 11 medical stores before further action. Warnings were issued to 22 medical store owners to follow drug laws and regulations, while three cases were postponed until the next meeting.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner instructed concerned officers to ensure strict implementation of drug laws and take action against the sale of substandard, unregistered, banned, and expired medicines. He emphasized that providing safe and quality medicines to citizens is a basic responsibility and negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
