DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 17th Sep, 2026) Global Quantum X (GQX), an event that brings together the quantum technology and cybersecurity sectors, is scheduled to take place from 4th to 6th May 2027 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai. This strategic partnership with the UAE Cyber Security Council will host the event organized by GITEX.
GQX aims to gather governments, quantum technology leaders, national cybersecurity authorities, research institutions, enterprise adopters and investors to explore quantum technology applications and related security frameworks.
According to McKinsey’s Quantum Technology Monitor 2026, one-third of global enterprises now allocate over $10 million annually to quantum initiatives, with quantum technologies projected to unlock $2.7 trillion in global economic value within the next decade.
The event will focus on:
- Quantum computing
- Quantum-secured communications
- Next-generation sensing
Additionally, it will address:
- Post-quantum security
- Cryptographic transition
- Critical infrastructure protection
- National quantum readiness
Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Cyber Security Council, emphasized that transitioning to the post-quantum era is a significant shift in the cybersecurity sector, demanding robust international collaboration. He believes Global Quantum X will facilitate this by bringing quantum-safe migration, sovereign cryptographic capability, and national readiness testing to a global platform, assisting governments and enterprises in bridging the gap between current defenses and future threats.
Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of inD, organizer of GISEC Global and GQX, noted that while quantum computing has evolved from scientific potential to commercial reality faster than expected, this advanced computing power could compromise existing encryption. Thus, she stressed the growing need for closer integration between quantum technology and cybersecurity.
