CDC) has stated that the fastest-growing Ebola outbreak on record in eastern
Congo
is expanding beyond its centre.

During their weekly briefing,
Africa
CDC reported a decline in new cases and deaths in Ituri province, the outbreak’s origin, over the past few weeks, but a significant rise in neighbouring North Kivu and Haut-Uélé provinces.

According to the most recent
government
data released on Thursday, 6,843 cases have been recorded, including 3,310 fatalities. Ituri province remains the hardest-hit region with over 5,400 cases, while North Kivu has reported more than 1,000 since the outbreak was declared in
