Egypt Keeps Interest Rates Unchanged
Egypt has decided to keep key interest rates unchanged, according to the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). This decision was made during their meeting on Thursday, where they maintained the overnight deposit rate, overnight lending rate, and the main operation rate at 19.00%, 20.00%, and 19.50%, respectively.
The CBE stated in a release that the discount rate remains at 19.50%. This decision reflects the committee's evaluation of recent inflation trends and outlook, along with the balance of risks associated with it.
