Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi Processions Concluded Under Foolproof Security, Civic Management
RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 26th Aug, 2026) The Eid-e- Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) celebrations culminated peacefully across Rawalpindi on Wednesday as over 400 major and minor processions travelled their designated routes and concluded peacefully, supported by a joint security, traffic, and municipal operation managed by district authorities and local police.
Procession Details:
The city’s main procession departed from the Markazi Jamia Masjid in the morning and returned to its starting point after navigating its traditional route through:
- Jamia Masjid Road
- Banni Chowk
- Circular Road
- Murree Road
- Iqbal Road
- Raja Bazaar, etc.
In the Cantonment areas, the central procession comprising 100 plus rallies, assembled at Octroi Post 22 (Chungi No. 22), where religious scholars delivered speeches. They urged the Muslim Ummah to adhere to the code of life under the teachings of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Special prayers were said for the peace and stability of the Muslim world, especially for Pakistan.
Public Engagement:
Large crowds of citizens, including children, youth, and elders, lined the streets to witness the proceedings. Organizers set up numerous stages along the routes to encourage participating Milad committees by distributing cash prizes and commemorative shields. Welfare groups also arranged sabeels (water stations) to serve meals, tea, and water to procession participants throughout the day.
Security and Management:
Top district administrators, including Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfraz Alpa, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Salman Ghani, City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, and Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir, monitored field operations directly and evaluated continuous digital surveillance from the Central Control Room and Safe City Authority headquarters.
Over 4,500 police personnel and field personnel maintained strict security operations and enforced provincial codes of conduct, resulting in overall safe and secure procession management across the district.
Municipal, Cantt Boards, and civil defence agencies maintained active deployments. Sanitation crews from the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation (RMC) executed route clearances, while emergency response units remained stationed at dedicated centers. WASA water tankers and mobile health teams also rendered continuous field activities as per assigned duties.
Traffic police successfully managed diversions across key arterial roads to prevent congestion. The allied hospitals remained on high alert throughout the day to combat any untoward medical situation.
As daytime processions concluded, night congregations commenced in several mosques across the city, where religious scholars are delivering addresses highlighting the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
