Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) Preparations Reach At Peak In Rawalpindi As City Illuminates For Celebrations
Rawalpindi is gearing up for a vibrant celebration of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with preparations reaching their peak. The city is adorned with colorful lights, illuminated arches, and festive displays across the Cantonment and City areas.
Commercial Buzz and Festivities:
The district has witnessed a surge in commercial activity, with stalls and dedicated shops reporting heavy footfall. Citizens, especially children and youth, are stocking up on badges, religious flags, green caps, banners, and themed accessories.
Religious Observances:
Mahafil-e-Naat and other religious programs are being organized in various mosques and homes. The district administration, through the peace committee, has emphasized a code of religious conduct to maintain harmony and avoid hate speeches.
Sales Boom for Vendors:
Main markets like Saddar, Raja Bazaar, Murree Road, Tench Bhatta, and Commercial Market have seen peak sales as people prepare for Eid celebrations. Catering services and local sweet shops have also received advance orders for traditional dishes and sweets to support langar (welfare food) distributions and community gatherings.
Humanitarian Drives:
Social and welfare organizations are launching humanitarian drives across the city. Under the banner of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society and Mustafai Tehreek Rawalpindi, volunteers are organizing an "Eid Milad Gift Distribution" on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal at Cantonment General Hospital, Saddar. They will be visiting patients, marginalized individuals, orphanages, and prisons to deliver fresh fruits, flowers, and festive gifts.
Civic Initiatives:
Similar civic initiatives and charitable food distribution drives are planned across various administrative sectors to assist hospitalized and underprivileged citizens during this auspicious occasion.
Procession Plans:
The district administration, in collaboration with Rawalpindi Police and Traffic Police, has devised a comprehensive security and traffic management strategy. High-definition CCTV surveillance through the Safe City monitoring room, static police pickets, and mobile patrols will be deployed along all primary procession routes. The Cantonment procession will assemble at Octroi No. 22 (Chungi No. 22) before proceeding along designated routes. Central city processions are scheduled to commence at Jamia Masjid, where the formal inaugural takes place annually, before winding through traditional routes including Jamia Masjid Road and Raja Bazaar.
