EPA Takes Action Against Polluters:
The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) sealed one brick kiln, demolished seven kilns, and registered three cases against violators of environmental laws during August 2026. This action follows the special directives from Punjab Environment Protection Department Director General Abdullah Nair Sheikh.
During the month, the EPA also sealed 11 stone crushers for violating environmental regulations and imposed fines totaling Rs11 million. In a separate initiative, they confiscated 1,559 kilograms of plastic bags, targeting banned plastic bag use.
Muhammad Rana, Deputy Director Environment, emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against environmental polluters, without any exception. He assured effective enforcement to ensure citizens enjoy a clean and healthy environment.
