EPA, UNDP Discuss Biodiversity Conservation Strategy, Action Plans

PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Aug, 2026) A meeting held here on Monday at the office of the Director General (DG), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, under the chairmanship of Director General EPA KP, Tariq Ali Khan, with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and a local representative.

During the meeting, detailed discussions took place regarding the development of effective strategies and action plans for the conservation of biodiversity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The participants explored collaborative approaches, institutional coordination, and future initiatives aimed at strengthening biodiversity conservation efforts and ensuring sustainable management of natural ecosystems.

The DG EPA emphasized the importance of collaborative partnerships with development organizations and relevant stakeholders to enhance environmental governance, protect the province’s rich biodiversity, and promote evidence-based conservation measures.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to further strengthen cooperation and explore innovative solutions for safeguarding the natural heritage of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
