LONDON (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 18th Sep, 2026) European stock markets experienced a rise on Thursday, boosted by decreasing oil prices and a pause in the global sell-off of bonds. This led to an increase in risk appetite.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index climbed 0.9% to 642.6 points, with most European stock markets showing positive gains. Shares within the metal mining sector led the index's advancement by 2.1%.
Automotive stocks gained 1.7%, with significant increases of around 2% in shares of BMW, Renault, and Volkswagen.
The UK FTSE index grew by 1.2%, marking its largest one-day surge in over two months.
