The Excise and Taxation department Multan's motor branch achieved significant progress toward its annual motor taxation target, recovering Rs1.15 billion in motor tax during the first quarter – 40 percent higher than revenue collected during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

The Excise and Taxation department Multan assigned an annual motor taxation target of Rs4.26 billion for the financial year 2026-27, marking a Rs2 billion increase from the previous financial year's target.

According to Motor Registration Authority (MRA) Multan ETO Asadullah Khan, staff from the Motor Branch have been working tirelessly since July to meet the ambitious revenue goal.

He attributed this success to:

  • Two special road-checking teams constituted on the directives of Director Excise Iftikhar Ahmad Bhalli, targeting token tax defaulters, unregistered vehicles, and non-customs-paid vehicles.
  • Strict monitoring of these teams leading to encouraging results.
  • Implementation of the Dealer Vehicle Registration System (DVRS) in vehicle showrooms, ensuring registration and number plate allotment before sale.
  • Introduction of digital services like online token tax payment, self-registration, and self-transfer of vehicles, enhancing citizen convenience while boosting government revenue.

Asadullah Khan urged citizens to pay their vehicle token tax on time and avoid operating unregistered or unplated vehicles.
