Excise Employee Held Red Handed Receiving Bribe In Vehari

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Multan region arrested an employee of the Excise and Taxation department red-handed while receiving a bribe of Rs20,000.
The operation was conducted on Saturday under the supervision of Regional Director ACE Multan Basharat Nabi, on the directions of Director General ACE Punjab Sohail Zafar Chattha. Circle Officer ACE Vehari Mansoor Khan and his team carried out the trap raid under the supervision of a Judicial Magistrate.
During the operation, Tahir Bhutta, an employee of the Excise and Taxation department, Vehari, was caught accepting Rs20,000 in bribe. The marked currency notes were recovered from his possession and taken into custody as evidence in accordance with the law.
According to the complaint, the accused had demanded Rs60,000 from complainant Waheed Anwar, son of Khursheed Ahmed, in exchange for facilitating the transfer of ownership of a vehicle. The accused was subsequently arrested while receiving Rs20,000.
A case was registered against the accused and further investigations are underway.
