Expansion of People’s Bus Service to Different Cities Part of Policy: Sharjeel

A decision was taken at an important meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department chaired by Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, to further expand public transport facilities.
The meeting discussed:
- The expansion of the People’s Bus Service across the province, with a focus on extending service to various cities.
- Progress on double-decker buses, the EV taxi service, Pink Scooties, and BRT projects.
Attendees included Secretary Transport Asad Zamin, CEO Trans Karachi Zubair Channa, MD Sindh Mass Transit Authority Aamir Behzad Memon, and other concerned officers.
Sharjeel Inam Memon was briefed on the ongoing operations of the People’s Bus Service, including its imminent launch on the Qambar-Shahdadkot to Larkana route. The buses have already reached Larkana, with final arrangements for double-decker buses underway.
The meeting also delved into:
- The operational model of the EV taxi service and upcoming launch plans.
- Accelerating work on BRT projects and emphasizing close coordination among relevant institutions to avoid delays.
Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that the Sindh government is committed to developing a modern, safe, and environmentally friendly public transport system. He highlighted that expanding the People’s Bus Service, promoting electric transport, and major BRT projects are integral to the government's comprehensive transport policy.
