Faisalabad is set for a major makeover along its Canal Road as the district administration weighs an integrated beautification and recreational plan featuring landmark arches, memorial monuments, floating decks, modern lighting, and extensive plantation alongside a dedicated walking track designed to offer citizens a cleaner, more attractive, and healthier space for leisure and exercise.

Muhammad Nauman Siddique, Deputy Commissioner (DC), made the announcement during a meeting where officials examined plans to enhance the aesthetic appeal of Canal Road and create better facilities for recreational and healthy activities.

Proposed Beautification Plan

Under the proposed plan, the canal corridor from Jhal Bridge to Gattwala will receive a series of visual and landscaping improvements, including:

  • Decorative arches
  • Memorial monuments
  • Floating decks
  • Modern lighting arrangements
  • Plantation

Dedicated Walking Track

The administration also plans to construct a dedicated walking track from D-Type Chowk to Jhal Bridge, providing a designated space for walking, exercise, and other healthy outdoor activities. The track will be equipped with benches, waste bins, and direction boards.

Nauman Siddique emphasized the importance of integrated planning to enhance the beauty of Canal Road while providing a clean, pleasant, and attractive environment. He directed relevant departments to ensure effective planning, considering citizen convenience, environmental improvement, and long-term visual appeal.
