Fake Social Media Account Operator Arrested
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd Aug, 2026) Police on Sunday claimed to arrest a man identified as Zahid, involved in operating fake social media accounts in Landi Kotal.
According to police, a case has been registered against the suspect at Landi Kotal Police Station. He was accused of allegedly defaming and blackmailing citizens through social media.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the suspect created inappropriate pictures and videos and uploaded them on social media. He also allegedly demanded money from victims and threatened them.
The FIR stated that police traced and arrested Zahid, who was said to be the main operator of a network of fake social media accounts. The investigation was initiated on an application submitted by Shah Fahad.
Police said further investigation was underway, while efforts were continuing to arrest other members of the network.
