LAHORE (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News) (6th Sep, 2026): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Sunday inspected juice and bottled water production units in Lahore and stopped production at a water filtration plant after its water sample failed laboratory testing, while a heavy fine was imposed on a juice factory over violations of food safety regulations.
On the directives of Director General Punjab Food Authority Raja Mansoor Ahmed, PFA teams conducted inspections at production units located on Multan Road and Minhaj-ul-Quran Road.
According to the PFA, Pseudomonas aeruginosa was detected in the water sample collected from a water filtration plant, leading to the halt of its production.
DG Food Authority Raja Mansoor Ahmed stated that violations of previous instructions were also found at the juice factory. He noted issues including a lack of a temperature-monitoring system in the pulp storage area, peeling paint on walls, and inadequate cleanliness arrangements in the production area.
He emphasized the importance of adhering to food safety and hygiene standards and directed relevant officials to ensure strict enforcement, promising continued action against violators.
