FCCI Election Commission Sets Ground Rules for Sep 21-22 Polls

Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Election Commission has finalized arrangements and a code of conduct for the 2026-28 elections, with polling scheduled for September 21 and 22 for Corporate and Associate classes, respectively. As many as 33 candidates are in the running for these elections.

Atif Munir Sheikh, FCCI Election Commission Member, assured all candidates of an equal, transparent, and impartial electoral process. He addressed a meeting attended by candidates from both classes, emphasizing the commission's commitment to fairness.

With 17 candidates contesting the Corporate Class and 16 for the Associate Class, only the top 14 in each category will be successful. Polling will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the chamber's basement, with sufficient booths to minimize voter wait times.

Key points of the code of conduct:

  • Each candidate can nominate one polling agent.
  • Only candidates, their agents, and secretariat staff will be permitted in the polling area.
  • Tea, coffee, water, and lunch will be provided to election-related personnel.
  • Members of the Election Commission will not vote to maintain transparency and impartiality.
  • Candidates are advised to display patience and respect towards fellow contestants.
  • Responsible members of the respective classes should be appointed as polling agents.
  • Inappropriate conduct by agents may result in candidate disqualification or other penalties.
  • The last date for nomination paper withdrawal is September 15; however, no candidate has withdrawn.
