FCCI Installs Bio-artificial Oxygen Tree To Combat Air Pollution
FCCI (Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry) has installed a bio-artificial oxygen tree developed by Terra Spark at its premises, which claims to generate oxygen equivalent to around 25 conventional trees while occupying less space.
Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) President Farooq Yousuf Sheikh stated that this initiative aims to support efforts to control environmental pollution and enhance air quality in Faisalabad. He highlighted FCCI's existing monitoring equipment for the Air Quality Index (AQI) and noted Terra Spark's advanced technology as a practical solution for deteriorating air quality, especially in densely populated areas with limited space for traditional planting.
The bio-artificial oxygen tree is designed to absorb carbon dioxide and harmful particles from the atmosphere, providing emergency oxygen. Dr. Sarfraz Ahmed, CEO of Terra Spark, explained that its compact size makes it suitable for installation at industrial units, malls, offices, and housing societies where space is limited.
Farooq Yousuf Sheikh appreciated Divisional Commissioner Faisalabad, Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, for facilitating modern environmental technologies in the city. He also mentioned the provision of two anti-smog guns to combat air pollution during the winter season.
The FCCI president emphasized the need for coordinated efforts between the government, business community, and stakeholders to create a cleaner and healthier urban environment.
