FESCO Chief Engineer Orders Customer-friendly Service, Zero Tolerance For Safety Lapses, Power Theft

FAISALABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th Aug, 2026) FESCO Chief Engineer Operations Muhammad Munawar Khan has called for a sharper focus on consumer service, system reliability and field safety, directing the officers and employees to adopt a courteous, respectful and customer-friendly approach while ensuring prompt resolution of electricity complaints and strict action against power theft.

Addressing a meeting of Superintending Engineers of FESCO’s Jhang, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh and Mianwali circles, he stated that providing the best possible services to electricity consumers and immediate redressal of their complaints are among FESCO’s foremost priorities, with no negligence in this regard tolerated.

During the meeting, the chief engineer reviewed measures for:

  • Improving the efficiency of the electricity distribution system
  • Timely maintenance of transmission lines and other installations
  • Upgrading transformers
  • Enhancing the performance of feeders connected with grid stations

He directed officers to ensure effective field monitoring and practical measures for improving the distribution system and providing permanent solutions to consumer problems.

Muhammad Munawar Khan instructed officers to formulate an effective strategy for immediate rectification of technical faults, guaranteeing continuous and uninterrupted power supply. He emphasized that complaints from consumers must be addressed on a priority basis, with no complaint unnecessarily kept pending.

He also placed strong emphasis on occupational safety, directing all field officers and line staff to strictly observe safety principles and ensure 100% compliance with FESCO’s safety policy and standard operating procedures. He stated that strict implementation of safety measures is essential to prevent both fatal and non-fatal accidents, adding that negligence or violation of safety protocols would not be acceptable under any circumstances.

Regarding the campaign against electricity theft, Muhammad Munawar Khan issued clear directions for immediate and indiscriminate action:

  • Promptly register FIRs against those involved in electricity theft
  • Disconnect illegal connections
  • Take effective measures to recover outstanding amounts linked to power theft
  • Officers must not succumb to any pressure while taking action against electricity theft, ensuring all cases are pursued to their logical conclusion according to the law.

He urged FESCO officers to perform their duties with responsibility, integrity and professional commitment so that FESCO consumers can be provided with reliable, safe and improved electricity services.
