FIA Arrests Three For Copyright Violations and Illegal Internet Services
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone takes Action
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone has made significant strides in combating intellectual property crimes and illegal internet operations. In a series of separate raids, they arrested three individuals: Waheed Gul and Muhammad Amin Saleem for copyright violations, and Fazal Din for unauthorized internet service provision.
Copyright Infringement Raid: During the raid on the suspects Waheed Gul and Muhammad Amin Saleem, a substantial amount of counterfeit products belonging to a renowned registered company were seized. Preliminary investigations suggest that the duo was illegally producing and selling these items without legal authorization.
Illegal Internet Service Operation: In another operation, FIA detained Fazal Din for operating an unauthorized internet service. A case was filed against him under the Pakistan Telecommunication Act. Technical equipment and network hardware used to facilitate this illegal activity were also confiscated with the assistance of a technical team from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
Further inquiries into these cases are ongoing.
