ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Sep, 2026) The dispute between lawyers and the district administration over a filtration plant installation in Abbottabad has intensified. The District Bar Association has formed a legal committee to represent them in courts while a protest by revenue department employees, district staff, and others entered its seventh day.
Despite Peace Forum Jirga's efforts to mediate, no progress has been made toward a resolution. However, the forum members continue their dialogue with both sides, aiming for a peaceful outcome.
The District Bar Association has tasked a committee of Supreme Court lawyers with overseeing legal proceedings related to the plant. This committee will handle complaints, writ petitions, and potential criminal or civil actions.
This development adds another layer to the standoff as negotiations falter while both sides prepare legal battles. Meanwhile, government offices remain partially or fully closed due to ongoing protests, causing inconvenience to citizens needing essential services.
Citizens urge a swift, peaceful resolution to restore normal administrative functions and public services. The Abbottabad Peace Forum continues its efforts to prevent further escalation and encourage lawful dispute resolution.
