Food Group Exports Rise 2.47% in July
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 20, 2026) Food group exports from the country increased by 2.47 percent during the first month of the current financial year compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
During July 2026, food commodities worth $437.078 million were exported, compared with exports of $426.555 million recorded in July 2025.
Key Exports:
- Rice: A significant increase of 19.15% with 346,024 metric tons exported worth $199.950 million.
- Fish and Fish Preparations: A slight rise in value to $22.544 million from the export of 11,568 metric tons.
- Tobacco: Witnessed a substantial growth of 72.55% with 2,334 metric tons exported worth $6.861 million.
- Spices: Increased by 9.95% to 2,905 metric tons valued at $7.426 million.
- Oilseeds and Nuts: Surged by 493.70% to $24.898 million.
- Meat and Meat Preparations: Rose by 16.20% with the export of more than 8,963 metric tons worth $47.001 million.
