A former Indian first-class cricketer, Rachit Bhatia, has claimed match-fixing within the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. According to an UrduPoint report, Bhatia revealed that five IPL 2025 matches were rigged, and he received approximately Rs6 million per match in exchange for providing information to London-based bookmakers.

A Tehelka special investigation team's undercover camera investigation uncovered conversations suggesting the exchange of team playing XIs during IPL 2025. The report implicated Bhatia, who allegedly admitted to earning Rs30 million from five matches.

The report also mentioned a young wicketkeeper-batter, later identified as Vansh Bedi by cricket journalist Prateesh Haldar on X, who was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for Rs5.5 million at the IPL 2025 auction.

Tehelka's investigation further alleged spot-fixing in the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where Bhatia admitted to deliberately bowling two wide deliveries for money from bookmakers. The agreed payment was Rs800,000 per wide delivery. The alleged activities reportedly extended to the Delhi Premier League, with a mention of Rs4 million per match for playing XI information.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to respond to these allegations.
