FOSPAH Launches Mobile App for Workplace Harassment Complaints (Published August 27, 2026)
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27th Aug, 2026)
The Federal Ombudsman for Protection against Harassment (FOSPAH) on Thursday launched a mobile application to facilitate registration of complaints against workplace harassment.
Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, while launching the application, stated that FOSPAH is a quasi-judicial forum where technology is being introduced to assist complainants.
Addressing the ceremony, the Minister highlighted Pakistan’s development linked with women’s participation in the country’s progress. He noted that women working in offices can now use the mobile app to file complaints if they face harassment at work.
Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar explained that the application was launched to modernize FOSPAH according to contemporary standards. He mentioned that outdated social norms previously restricted women from pursuing education and employment, adding that Islam does not prohibit women from acquiring knowledge or working.
“There is no instance in history where a country achieved progress by confining half its population to homes,” he emphasized. The Minister stressed the importance of empowering women with education and professional skills. He praised Pakistani women for excelling in various fields, including information technology.
Earlier, FOSPAH Chairperson Fauzia Waqar stated that the Ministry of IT played a pivotal role in developing the mobile Complaint Management System. She informed that women, men, and transgender individuals can approach FOSPAH to file harassment complaints. She added that this system will streamline the management and processing of grievances.
Ms. Waqar further revealed that FOSPAH’s website has been revamped, offering easy access to all institutional orders. She assured that FOSPAH operates independently without external pressure.
