Galiyat Hosts Pakistan’s First 100-mile Multi-stage Ultra Trail Challenge Race
Xtreme Adventures organized a three-day event in Galiyat, marking Pakistan's inaugural 100-mile multi-stage ultra trail running challenge. A total of 48 runners successfully completed the demanding course.
Event Details:
- Course: Mountain trails between Namli Gali and Barmi Gali.
- Distance per day: Approximately 40 kilometers.
- Elevation gain: Over 2,000 meters per stage.
- Time Limit: 12 hours per stage.
- Participants: 48 runners, including 28 men and 20 women.

Men's Category:
- 1st: Yasban Karim (GB Scouts) - National record: 4:13:00
- 2nd: Ali Abbas (GB Scouts)
- 3rd: Muhammad Fida
Women's Category:
- 1st: Selena Khawaja - Pakistan's youngest mountaineer, becoming the first Pakistani woman to win a 100-mile ultra trail challenge.
- 2nd: Ayesha Mastoor Butt
- 3rd: Eman Khan (DRC Running Club)
Notable Participants:
- Saim Abbas: Aged 13, the youngest Pakistani to complete an ultra trail event.
- Hassan Asif: Ran in memory of his late mother.
- Usama bin Rehman: Offered support and encouragement to fellow runners.
- Masood Khan: Known for his Peshawar-to-Skardu run, he assisted competitors.
- Naila Kiani: Mountain climber who supported the opening day.
- Sana Arif: Triathlete who contributed to promoting endurance sports in Pakistan.
Xtreme Adventures CEO Rana Fahad Nisar expressed satisfaction with the event's success, highlighting Galiyat's potential for outdoor sports and tourism, with support from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
