GCC Warns Of Danger Of Israeli ‘E1’ Settlement Project

RIYADH (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 22nd Aug, 2026) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned the Israeli occupation authorities’ continued settlement plans in the occupied West Bank, including the "E1" settlement project. He emphasized that these actions challenge international legitimacy and undermine the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights.
According to Albudaiwi:
"These practices by the Israeli occupation forces hamper peace prospects and threaten international and regional efforts for an independent Palestinian state."
The GCC Secretary General called on the international community to act decisively to halt settlement policies and plans, countering any attempts to alter the demographics of the occupied territories. He reaffirmed the GCC’s support for the Palestinians’ right to establish their independent state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international resolutions.
