Gohar Ejaz Group Sweeps APTMA Election for 17th Consecutive Year

Dr Gohar Ejaz Group has successfully swept the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Annual Elections of 2026-28 for the 17th consecutive year.

During a press conference at APTMA House on Monday, Association Secretary General Raza Baqir announced the election results, highlighting the unopposed election of members to the Central Executive Committee of APTMA. This includes:

Dr Gohar Ejaz's Statement:
Dr Gohar Ejaz congratulated his group members on securing this unprecedented victory, both at the Center and Zonal levels. He praised the newly elected Central and Zonal Managing Committees and office-bearers for their election. He expressed his honor in being chosen by APTMA, Pakistan’s largest trade body established since 1957.
Gohar emphasized APTMA's and the textile industry's contribution to Pakistan's economic autonomy, hoping that the new leadership will work diligently to strengthen the nation's export potential. He addressed several challenges facing textile exports, including energy tariffs, high taxation, and rising costs of business, specifically mentioning the sudden withdrawal of a regionally competitive energy tariff approved for export-oriented sectors.
He concluded by acknowledging the textile industry's role in providing employment to approximately ten million people and contributing over 60% to Pakistan’s total exports, stating that with the right conditions, the industry could add USD 10 billion within one year.
