Protected consumers will no longer lose their status for exceeding 200 electricity units; they will only be charged for the additional units, according to Energy Ministry sources.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Sep, 2026) The government has announced good news for protected consumers using 200 electricity units, as they will no longer lose their protected category for exceeding 200 units.
Previously, if a protected consumer used more than 200 units even once, their protected category was revoked, placing them in the non-protected category for the next six months, regardless of subsequent usage levels. This practice is set to change.
