The protest scheduled for September 27 by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be handled by the police, Rangers, and Frontier Constabulary, with the option to use force if needed, according to Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry.
Chaudhry revealed to the BBC that the federal government has decided against calling in the army for security arrangements this time. The Interior Ministry will rely solely on police, Rangers, and Frontier Constabulary to maintain law and order during the protest.
Additional personnel have been requested from Sindh and Punjab police to bolster security in Islamabad. Chaudhry emphasized that if protesters attempt to disrupt the peace, force would be employed as a last resort.
When asked about potential closures of educational institutions and business areas, Chaudhry clarified that no such plans are in place. Normal life and business activities will continue uninterrupted.
