Government Negotiating Team Reveals Imran Khan's Health Struggle
Salman Akram Raja, PTI Secretary-General, has disclosed a concerning detail regarding former Prime Minister Imran Khan's health during a recent news conference. According to Raja, the government's negotiating team informed them about a critical period of four to five weeks when Khan's blood pressure soared to extreme levels.
Despite being administered various medications, Khan's blood pressure remained uncontrollable. This prompted the call for a specialist doctor from London, whose treatment brought Khan's blood pressure back to normal. Raja emphasized that this information should not have been kept confidential, considering the absence of Khan's personal physicians during his care.
Raja made it clear that their primary demand is to include personal physicians in Khan's medical team. He criticized government ministers for making irrelevant statements about the negotiations, which had taken place over two rounds without yielding any results.
The PTI secretary-general detailed their initial meeting in Peshawar, where their negotiating committee discussed terrorism with the chief minister and cabinet. They presented two main demands: access to meet Khan and ensuring that no decision is made by the PTI without his consent. They also highlighted the need to end terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, advocating for hearing the Peace Jirga's recommendations.
Raja promised to reveal documents from the Peace Jirga, signed by various political parties, including the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Awami National Party.
