Governor Kundi Assures Support For Resolving Physical Therapists’ Issues

PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday stated that the province boasts the largest youth population in the country, rich with talent. He emphasized that offering young people improved opportunities and facilities will empower them to contribute meaningfully to national development.

Addressing the Physical Therapy Convention as the chief guest at Nishtar Hall, organized by the Pakistan Physical Therapy Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Governor Kundi highlighted the significance of physical therapy as an integral part of healthcare systems in developed nations.

Provincial Minister for Health Khaliq-ur-Rehman, former MPA Nighat Orakzai, Association President Dr Pirzada Khattak, Riphah University Dean Dr Asghar Khan, Khyber Medical University Dean Dr Haider Dareen, Rehman Medical Institute Dean Dr Muhammad Bin Afsar Jan, Helping Hand Regional Manager Aminullah, Dr Irfanullah, and a large number of healthcare professionals and physical therapists attended the convention.

The Governor praised Nighat Orakzai’s efforts in advancing physical therapy within the province and acknowledged her role in addressing the field’s professional challenges. He assured participants that every effort would be made to fulfill the demands of physical therapists and pledged to personally advocate for their rights. Kundi also promised to establish an allergy centre in Peshawar modeled after Islamabad and to raise the issue of house jobs for physical therapists with the provincial health minister and chief minister.

He noted that investment in the healthcare sector would enhance public services and expressed optimism that issues concerning new healthcare structures and appointments of physical therapists in every district would also be addressed. Despite political differences, Kundi stated he would continue collaborating with the provincial government for youth welfare and resolving physical therapists’ problems.
