Governor Meets Young Athletes
KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Sep, 2026) The Governor of Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi, has stated that Pakistani youth are showcasing their talent in the realm of sports, with young athletes representing the country at the international level as a source of national pride and joy.
During a meeting at Governor House with young Taekwondo Players who secured three gold and two bronze medals at the Grand Slam Youth Taekwondo League 2026, He expressed these views. The players present included Wajahat Ali Khan, Arham Munaf, Ayan Miraj, and archery player Kiran Gujjar.
The Governor congratulated the athletes on their outstanding performance and acknowledged the government’s efforts to provide opportunities for young people to excel in sports and other fields under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme. He encouraged them to utilize the facilities offered by the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub.
Assuring his full cooperation for the promotion of sports and encouragement of young athletes, the Governor noted that Pakistani Taekwondo athletes are diligently working towards qualifying for the Olympics and competing internationally. He expressed hope that these young athletes would continue to bring further honors to Pakistan in future international competitions.
