Associate Degree Programmes (ADPs) offered through annual examination system or private mode will not be recognized.

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Oct, 2026) The HEC has barred new admissions to these programmes, stating they won't qualify for attestation or equivalence. Students are advised to choose recognized ADPs under the regular semester system.

Key Points:

  • No new admissions will be made in ADPs through annual or private modes.
  • HEC will not consider private or annual ADPs for attestation or equivalence.
  • Students should verify the mode and recognition status of ADPs under the regular semester system.
  • HEIs are directed to discontinue offering such programmes and align them with the HEC Undergraduate Education Policy 2023 (Version 1.1).

According to HEC, an Associate Degree Programme:

  • Is a structured programme comprising four regular semesters over two years (64-72 credit hours).

HEC emphasizes:

  • There is no two-year BA/BSc/ADP programme offered through the annual or private mode.
  • Details regarding recognition status are available on the HEC website.
