Home Secretary Reviews Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) Security Arrangements Through Central Control Room
LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 26th Aug, 2026) Punjab Home Secretary Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi on Wednesday visited the Central Control Room of the Home Department to review security arrangements and the law and order situation across the province on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
Additional Secretary Internal Security Javeria Maqbool briefed the Home Secretary on security arrangements, including the monitoring of processions and Milad gatherings across Punjab. The Central Control Room was continuously monitoring 2,340 Milad processions and 1,436 Milad gatherings across the province.
The Home Secretary also established live video links with control rooms in different districts of Punjab and reviewed the arrangements firsthand.
Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi said the Punjab government was celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with religious devotion, respect and in a befitting manner. He noted that the blessed day was a source of joy for the entire Muslim Ummah and being observed with mutual harmony, unity and solidarity.
He emphasized arrangements like Sabeels along major procession routes, illuminated buildings, intersections, and markets with green lights to commemorate the occasion. Sweets were also distributed among prisoners in Punjab jails, and a Seerat-un-Nabi symposium was organized to highlight the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings and noble character.
Dr. Qazi directed authorities to ensure strict adherence to rules and regulations for the occasion. He stressed continuous monitoring of all major processions through cameras and deployment of security personnel until the conclusion of all gatherings.
Deputy Secretary Internal Security Zainab Jahandad and representatives of law enforcement agencies were present during the visit.
